It's one sweet shootin little 9mm pistol but not a S&W..
A 3913LS/NL carries better IMO..

No; this is a different one. Apparently this one has been in the guy's safe for a few years. He said it came with Pachmayr grippers, but he replaced them with some attractive faux ivory grips. I picked it up today, and I'd post pics, but I need to find a new photohosting site.

The twist to this story is the guy brought along a 640-1 that has been fitted with an XS front sight. I've always wanted to try out an XS sight, and I don't (or, to be more precise, didn't) own an all-steel Centennial, so guess who has *two* new J-frames?

I had a 640-1 with that XS Big Dot sight that I foolishly let go. I miss that gun even today!

Here's my little bit of J-frame goodness My little Bodyguard goes everywhere with me. I generally pocket carry although I just picked up the IWB and I'll play with it for kicks and giggles.

My two M640 357M's are my favorite carry guns.

Both are Mag-na-Ported and shoot Speer GDHP 135 gr. bullets very well.

My absolute favorites.

BTW, I only carry the one with gold trim when I am wearing gold ear rings.

To answer your question, I *think* I'm going to like it, but as I've only had the gun for 48 hours I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. I plan to put some rounds downrange this weekend to see how it works for me.

EDIT: by way of follow-up, I finally got the chance to shoot this gun today. My first cylinder was about six inches low at seven yards, but once I adjusted my sight picture so the dot stood completely above the rear sight it was spot on. It's not the sort of sight I'd want to use for precision shooting at any distance, but for this particular gun's intended purpose I like it a great deal.
