How do you tell the difference between a round butt and square butt, also are the grips interchangeable?

They are not interchangable. The square butt's are flared back on the bottom, and the round butts are rounded under at the heel.

Square butt target grips may be used on RB guns.

A pair of #36's so you can see the difference in the butt shape.

On K frames, the angle is a bit sharper on the SB.
