A friend of mine recently told me he wanted to get rid of his father's old reloading stuff. He mentioned one box of stuff. Turns out, he had a ton of stuff. There was a Lyman press, a brand new scale that has never been used. Boxes and boxes of brass (thousands of .38 Special). A like new set of Lyman All American dies in .38 S & W, even an old Crosman BB pistol. Ammo like full boxes of .38 Super, .38 S & W, all types of stuff. A Browning Hi-Power mag (high cap), a .45 Government mag. holsters, ammo pouches, tons of other stuff. 350 rounds of 9mm unopened boxes. Hi Vel .357 Police ammo. Lots of stuff. Now what to do with it all.

David,
If you don't have a use for the 38 super ammo let me know. I might be interested in what there is of it. Congrats on the good fortune.

Am interested in the press if you want to part with it.

Looks like we lost a fellow enthusiast.

What is ".38 Short Colt" as one box of ammo is labeled?

I own one of those Crossman .22 semiautomatic air pistols. Unfortunately, someone in the family used it for dry-fire practice and destroyed the valves.
If there were a way to repair it, I would love to know.

I've got an old gun that would be happy next to that 38 Colt ammo if you decide you don't need it.

Thanks,
Bill

I have decided that I can't not give this guy nothing for all of this stuff, so next week I am going to give him all of my old military stuff (he's a big WWII history buff), I know he likes alot of that.

The Remington .347 box, based on the pen writing on it, contains someone else's old reloads. It might be a good idea to pull those, and any other old reloaded ammo, down for the parts.

IF there are loaded rounds in the Super Vel box they bring a premium on any of the auction sites!!!!! Be careful with that can of FFFg, black powder is prone to be unstable when it gets old, you may want to consult with a die hard BP shooter about it..... All in all, a pretty neat haul!!!!

Oddly enough I ran across a few rounds of 38 Longs last night...made me think.."is there a .38 short?" So there are: .38 spl, 38 S&W, 38Rimfire 38 Colt, & 38 Long & Short.... too many for me to keep track of.

Nice magazine, brother had a couple, the pair went for $300 as I recall.

I have one of those old Crosman Model 600s... cost me $200 at a gunshow, quite a few years ago. Also, that .38 Special Metal Piercing ammo? How many boxes of that do you have? I don't think I've seen ammo like that before, at least not that old. Sure wish I could afford a box or two to try in my Highway Patrolman...
