This one is a perfect example of a kid's starter guitar. About as simple as you can get with one pickup and bridge that is only adjustable for height. It is from the early '60s, like I am, and does not even have a adjustable truss rod. Just a 'steel reinforced neck' as the sticker on the back of the headstock says. Like my Japanese Telecaster the frets are worn to a nub. Could play it as a slide guitar I guess, but I will hang it on the wall.:D

About 50 years ago (in the hills of Kentucky) my B-I-L picked up a 1955 Les Paul at a garage sale with amp for $50. Sold the amp the same afternoon for $75. About 15 years later, we were browsing a guitar store in Delaware Ohio, and a salesman neither of us had seen before, walked up and said: "I'll give you 5 grand for the Red Top!" We couldn't figure out how he knew Scott owned it. I was curious how much it was worth? About $10 grand or so.

I know nothing about old guitars and am flabbergasted at prices on Antiques Roadshow!
