Hello All:

I recently posted this pic on another Jelly Bryce holster thread but wanted to post as a new thread as well so everyone can find it.

The hunt for a clear photo (of at least one of Jelly's holsters) is, thanks to Jelly's Grandson, at long last finally over.

Any thoughts/info any of the educated members of the Forum may have about this would also be of high interest so please, chime in!

If any more images show up I will post them as well.

Best regards,
Mike

PS I'd also love to know what was in those boxes he brought out to the range that day!

Mike ,

I wish I had the pistol box he has in his hand . My pap had one like it (best I can tell ) that I was supposed to get but my dad wanted to keep it when he died so I bowed out . After my dad died in August of last year I found the box on the floor of his garage . The garage had been through both of the floods in Nashville over the last few years . The box was warped and full of rot and ants not to mention it smelled like a bucket of dead minnows . I saved the slide out tray and have the four pistols that went in it displayed on it . Thanks for re posting the picture , I missed it the first time .

Eddie

Sorry to hear about the box, Eddie. I know it meant something to you, obviously. Nice that you were able to salvage the tray, at least.

One of my uncles had an Arisaka rifle he brought back from WW2 service. He had three daughters, not a one interested in guns of any type. I loved that old rifle from when I was just little, and one day he asked me if I'd like to have it. Be still my 12 year old heart! Then one of my cousins (15 at the time and a long ways from being married) piped up and said she wanted to have it to give to her son one day and that was the first time a woman broke my heart.

Years later, (she did marry--had 3 girls, not a one interested in guns either, nor her husband) I asked her if she still had that old Arisaka and she gave me a blank look. "I thought we gave that to you," she said, then laughed and said, "Oh, we probably just got rid of it after Dad passed."

Funny how things stay with you. :)

Regards, Amigo.

The holster Jelly is wearing in the fuzzy photo looks to be black, while
in the clear photo the holster is lighter, probably brown. It wouldn't
surprise me if the big box in his right hand contains several other revolvers and holsters.
Through the quest for a good photo of Jelly's holster, I have always thought he undoubtedly had at least several holsters.

Agreed. Jelly had buckets and barrels of guns and gear. Unfortunately, many went to the winds after his death, others destroyed in a fire years ago.

Still trying to track down his famous "Lucky Gun" Third Model HE .44 Special...

That may be a Thompson in that case in the foreground of the photo.

I believe you are right. Those cases are still in use - every Division still has a few Thompsons around. I borrowed this one until they threatened to fire me unless I sent it back. It had a case like the one in the picture.
