Jet swab for cylinder bore

If some one has a Jet tapered cleaning cotton swab and a 38 cleaning swab could you post a picture of them side by side I would like to see the shape. Thanks Jeff

You can make one from a .38 swab, if you want to. It won't be perfect, and you won't fool a jet collector with it. But if you're making it to use, you can do a pretty passable job.

Chuck the .38 swab in an electric drill (1/4" runs faster). Then clamp the handle in your vise. Sharpen a wood chisel to an unnaturally sharp edge. Then just turn it down as you would a dowel rod. Its a little messy as it tosses cotton dust around, but it cleans up pretty easily.
 
Thanks for your reply Mr. Burg, I had seen one in a picture and I thought I could chuck it in my lathe and do that, thanks for taking the time to respond. Jeff
