When I was a kid, late '50s, or so, under ten, my dad used to play this guy a lot. I think it is Jimmie. Anyway, I found him on YouTube, and I can get him on Rhapsody, a music streaming service, and it brings back good memories.
Toward the later years of his life he got embroiled in local politics and generated lots of folks who either loved him or hated him.
Sure enjoyed the words to many of his songs.
One terrible tragedy occurred in 1967. While he was on tour in Europe his two sons apparently got into an argument at home and were found shot to death.
I have not thought about the man at all, these many years. But, back then, late '50s, early '60s, my daddy would put him on the ol' Philco, and we would all listen up, and my sister, she would sing along with the sweetest voice...
