In a few weeks I will have enough money to throw down for a brand new in box Jerry Miculek 625. I have read there standards springs in it, which I plan on putting a set of JM springs in it. Anyways is there anything I should know about it. I know its for 45 ACP and uses moon clips. But is there anything I should be for warned about or told to run away from? I have a ton of ACP brass as I shoot my hot rod 1911. I know I will probably need to load for the 625 and my 1911 separately. Anyways thoughts feelings? Making a big mistake? lol.

I've been looking at that model of 625 as well. There are some modifications on Jerry's actual IDPA revolver not seen on this model:

- chamfered cylinder charge holes
- bobbed hammer
- replace S&W adjustable rear sight with Bowen white outline
- replace front bead sight with HiViz green fiber optic sight
- trigger stop
- vintage S&W cylinder release
- action job

I'm looking to seeing opinions on this revolver. If I get something besides a standard production 625, I might be inclined to spring for the Performance Center version instead.

I have one. I had to change the grips. Didn't like the stock ones. DID like the finish, and I shoot 45 AR in it. I also shoot 45 Super. It can handle the loads fine. It's a fun gun. I'm not Jerry so I don't care to mirror his mods.

I've had mine for several years now and love it. I actually use the same loads for both the 625 and 1911. When I was looking at getting the 625, I looked at both the JM and the PC version and liked the JM better. I did send it back to the factory for the Master Pistol Action package and will never let that gun leave my collection. I use it for pin shoots and love it.

That is probably good advice. But, I may suggest that you shoot it the way it is first. I bought mine with the intention of shooting it in Steel Challenge competition. I did for awhile. I found out that six rounds are not enough. I switched to an eight shot 627. When I did shoot it in Steel Challenge I really liked the gold bead front sight. Give it a chance and see what you like best.

Hmm I may have to look into a PC. I planned on doing his 'Black and Decker' port job on it. And buying a second hammer and bobbing it. But I am going to look into what PC has to offer
