Tough weekend. I had the pleasure of meeting John Ashton a number of years ago when he testified before a Colorado legislative committee regarding a bill to give tax credits for film production in the state, late director Irwin Kershner also tesified and unfortunately the bill died in committee.
My brother who worked in the film industry until retiring 3 years ago had met him before I did and said what a great guy he was. My experience was exactly the same. Mr. Ashton lived in Ft. Collins, CO.
Of all his roles my personal favorite was as Marvin the bounty hunter in Midnight Run though Sgt Taggert in the Beverly Hills Cop series was a close second.
