This guy is a rocker, and good at it. Not a big star, but has been around a while. I like his stuff:

I commend you on your good taste sir! Not only is Mr. Hiatt very proficient musically he is also one of the more intelligent lyricists around.
Some of his other songs that I like are: "Cry Love", "Perfectly Good Guitar" and did you know he wrote the Clapton hit "Ridin' with the King"?
I saw him for FREE at the state fair a few years back with slide guitar ace Sonny Landreth and they rocked the place down to the last cheese curd!

Great song writer, great entertainer. Far and away one of my favorite musicians to see live.

Here's an eclectic collection of Hiatt stuff including a rare video of Ricky Nelson. One of his best songs performed by him and by Buddy Guy and John Mayer. And lastly, perhaps my favorite song by Hiatt is actually done during his Little Village days with Ry Cooder and Nick Lowe (think "Solar Sex Panel").

I saw a similar show at a small venue--John Hiatt, Joe Ely, Lyle Lovett, and Guy Clark. Acoustic guitars, sitting around a coffee table. Stupendous! If John Prine had been there too, well I just can't imagine anything I'd rather have seen!

Don't know much about Hiatt, but I've heard Lyle Lovett. Never much until I saw that video with the girl riding on the horse thru the pineapple(?)fields somewhere and absolutely fell in love with the song and him. Several years ago, first time I saw it, couldn't wait to see it again. If he likes Hiatt, I like him too!

Yep, we like Hiatt. For my BD my GF bought us tickets to see him on 11/14 at the New Daisy Theater in Memphis. I didn't have the heart to tell her I also bought us tickets for the same show for her BD. GF's BD is 11/26, two days after mine.

I see Hiat on Austin City Limits occasionally. Good writer for sure.
On Lyle Lovett. In the correct part, he is a right good actor.
But,... the real interesting thing about ole Lyle is: he was married to Julia Roberts for awhile.
