John Ross, the author of UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES also contributed to getting Missouri's concealed carry passed and ran for the 2nd congressional seat in 1998.
I find no news of his passing.

I'm just a poor country hick and I don't know what is customary but I would be very hesitant to title something "xxxxxxxxxx dead" without noting some supporting information. I took John's Concealed Carry Class several years ago which I would certainly recommend. Perhaps a better title might be "Has anybody heard from XXXXXX lately" or perhaps a pm to the person.
Additional information- There is an online obit of a John Ross, 72, poet and liberal activist passing way out west which I would strongly hope is not "our John Ross". I also don't think our John Ross is 72 and I don't think he is a renowned poet. Maybe this is the John Ross the OP is talking about since he doesn't tell us anything about which John Ross. There are probably a lot of folks with the name John Ross. I sincerely hope "our John Ross" hangs around for another 30 or 40 years.

John Ross is dead. Frank Bullitt shot him at the San Francisco Airport, and Walter Chalmers is not happy.
