Maybe now somebody will offer a John Wayne Nagant Commemorative :p

Yes, a Nagant, But it is not necessarily a Russian, could be Swedish or Swiss Nagant too.

True. When I found the first pic (and I've decided that is not HIS gun, but that he had Duke's gun), I thought it looked like a Husky. The size of the knob on the end of the ejector rod. I don't think the Russians are that big.

Wasn't the Nagant originally a Belgian design?

What puzzles me is why they had one in that desert in the pics. I'd have expected a Webley or a Lebel M-92.

If you were going to Egypt, and thought you might need a gun, would you go and expect to pick up something there, or would you pack what you liked? Brendan Frasier, in The Mummy, carried two French double action revolvers, but also carried two 1911s. One of the "competing archeologists" carried a Single Action Army. Indiana Jones went all over the world with a Smith N frame HE.

Well, sometimes, you have to use what you find, depending on how the hero got the gun. I was thinking that the prop man might have had to accept what was there.

I haven't seen the film, and don't know if it was in Egypt. Was this Nagant the property of a man whose origins suggest that make of revolver?

Or, as a Roman officer at the time of the Crucifixtion?
Which movie was that in? I think Wayne was wearing two swords.

It was sort of a cameo role, where he appeared briefly.
