I'm with Bastogne71. I'd love to find a 66-1 or-2 in 4", and I'd love another 19-2 or-3 with a 6". I just found (and bought) a 19-3 with a 4", target trigger, hammer, and grips, original box. I had a 66-2 4" that I owned for 27 years, had a stupid moment and sold it. Love to get it back. I know the owner well, and I can say that in the ten years he's had it, there's been maybe a cylinder full shot out of it.

Oh how I miss the days when S&W 4" 66's were on every shelf in every gun store and pawn shop, as the wonder nines came on the scene. I've had a few, and luckily had the brains to hang on to one of the 66-1 models. I'm pretty sure I paid top dollar at the time when I bought it for $200, with those funky Pachmayr grips on it. As much as I love that gun, I think my GP100 is a tougher gun for top end .357's. But I love them both.

I wish I had kept more of them.

I'm afraid that wishing for any new S&Ws without the lock is just that, a wish.
S&W has committed themselves to the infernal lock and they ain't gonna change their minds. :(
