Wow! I'm excited. I found three nice S&W consignment guns this weekend and bought them.

On the S&W 686-4 6" L-Frame I bought to keep my 686 4" company,
what are the differences from no dash to (-4)?

I also bought a S&W Mdl 34-1 4" .22lr revolver and a S&W 5906 9mm pistol.

My pocketbook said, sorry on a Mdl 14 K-38 target, and two flat latch mint mdl 36 and 37 snubnose 38's and a mdl 19 .357 snubby.
Ohhh! So tempting.

Still need to clean when I pick-up from FFL Dealer.

the hell with the 686, everyone has one, lets see the 34-1..
I see it now

anyway, the biggest differance in no dash and -4, no recall, and -4 is drilled and tapped

A lot of folks (including me) say the 686-4 is highly desirable...probably one of the best of this line. It has the case hardened hammer and trigger...you'll notice the earlier ones had shiny chrome on top of the hammer and trigger...and the -5 and later have MIM parts. I think -4 is when they started with the round butt frames and some models had 7 rounds. Congratulations on the -4...it is certainly a keeper and will be very fun to shoot. I just shot my 4" -4 yesterday...it is very accurate, so I imagine the 6" will be even more accurate. Great collection, B
