They got a Cyber sale going on today on New 9mm 124 grain FMJ 500 rounds for $100 bux. Thats about a 35 dollar savings over the Winchester white box that I've been buying at my local Academy store.. I never used Freedom before and mostly heard good reviews on their ammo. The pistol I'll be using them is my M&P shield 9.... . I know about their brass credit program however I'm not sure if they have a minimum that you send in, I think its 10lbs... I have collected so far 4.5lbs of my brass... If I'm happy with their ammo then by my next order I'll send in my brass for credit.... I read up that the Shield 9 likes 124 grain ammo better than the 115 grain so I thought I'd try it myself..

Has anyone else had good experience with this ammo? I hope this was a good deal

I was just looking at my email and had one from them about their sale. I have shot a lot of their ammo without any problems. They sometimes offer free shipping or flat $5.00 shipping.

Not trying to be a wise-guy but wouldn't have been better if you asked this question before you placed the order.

I just looked at their Brass Credit Program and you can send them any amount of brass for credit up to the amount you buy. There is no minimum, only a maximum. They will deduct what you send them from the price of what you buy. They are crediting you with scrap brass prices by weight.

I've bought from FM for a few years now and have had good results.
I've had occasional FTFire rounds, but there isn't a brand out there that I haven't had at least an occasional FTFire round.

Their remans are also good. After the brass people send in has been inspected, scrubbed and sized, their remans go through the same loading machines/process as their New rounds.

I purchased 500 rounds of 240 gn 44 magnums in new Star Line brass from them. The primary reason was that I needed some good brass for reloading. They were great plinking loads, a bit on the mild side at around 900fps. No ftf though.

I've had nothing but good luck with their ammo. Maybe one dud out of thousands shot.

Thanks for the responses guys!

I know I should have asked before ordering and that exact thought crossed my mind when writing this post eariler this morning. I felt I've done enough homework on FM prior to placing my order. Just wanted to hear from others here in the forum on their experience...

In other news, I got the email that my order has already shipped!

I always try to pick up a couple boxes when they offer free shipping. I've only shot their 9mm, but have never had a problem with it.

like their ammo a lot. Good prices. I use their 9mm, .380cal, and 38sp. Never have had a problem and no duds. I've been getting ammo from them for a year and will continue to do so. Great outfit to deal with.

I've had good results with their 9mm and .45acp

Whenever they have free shipping, I stock up. 9mm can be had at 19 or 20 cents per round instead of 26-30 cents for Winchester white box at the store.

I also thought about their brass credit, but you'd have to send quite a lot of brass to offset the flat rate cost of shipping. I've got a gallon ziplock bag full, but I'd probably be better off selling it on a local gun trade forum or taking it to the scrap yard unless I had a lot more to send.

Between my wife and I we've shot 1000s of rounds from Freedom and have never had one issue with either the 9mm or .380 FMJ. I also wait for free shipping days to replenish my stock.

The ammo is good quality and clean shooting. I've shot several thousand rounds of their 9 and .380 in both new and reman. with only a few problems - one missing primer and a couple of rounds that failed to eject because of how beat up the cases were.

I will no longer do business with them, though due to their failure to honor their commitment with the brass credit program. I sent in 50 lbs. of brass with my last order. I tracked my shipment and saw that it was delivered to them. I waited a couple of weeks without seeing any credit issued. I then emailed their customer service dept. The reply was slow in coming (over a week). She claimed that she would track down my brass and let me know something by the next day. I supplied a copy of the tracking information that showed the brass was delivered to them. Despite that I never received any credit for my brass. Additional emails that I sent them were totally ignored.

In short (too late for that, I guess), I will not do business with a company that reneges on their commitments and has such terrible customer service no matter how good their product is.

I haven't had any problem with the ammo except for the .380. I have a SIG 938 that would eat almost any brand. When I used the Freedom .380 I had a couple problems from the reloaded brass. So just make sure you inspect what your buying. That goes with any ammo. Other than that it seems to be a decent company.

UPDATE

I have to say I'm impressed with the performance of the 124 gr. new FMJ that I got from Freedom. The ammo is indeed clean shooting and I have more consistant groupings. It's decent ammo... I do feel that the M&P Shield 9 seems to like 124 gr. better than 115...

I have saved up close to 8lbs of empty brass that I will be sending in with my next order. However I am still weighing in to see if the added cost of shipping the brass to them and paying for shipping of the ammo to me makes it a bargan in the long run, or is my wallet better off just buying locally... Not sure yet.

I bought about 500 rds of their green tip 5.56 back sometime. After 100 rounds I realized my guns were not the problem. I had numerous FTF and several FTE. Shooting different weapons and different mags. I went with another company and haven't had any problems with their ammo.

It'll be hard for anyone to convince me otherwise. But that's just my experience. Some have good experience and some have bad. My case, it was terrible.
