At the Tyler, TX Gun Show yesterday.
Condition is mint.
Pinned barrel, cylinder bores recessed.
Will you look up in your data as to when it was made?
My incomplete data tells me maybe 1979-1980?
Lots of traffic, and money was flowing.
Texas has a great economy, and will get even better with the
Trump Administration.

Must have an "N" prefix on the s/n?

1978-1980

Most of the N500000 range consisted of M28s and M58. This according to the 3rd edition of the SCS&W and in particular John A. Crawford, Ph.d.

Congrats on your new HP mrchuck! Can you perhaps post pictures of your new revolver?

Good find. Please post pictures and if you don't mind what did the M28 set you back. I have a well worn 6" but I want a 4".

Congratulations on the 28! Would sure like to see some pictures! I have a 6" no dash from 1960. Looked at a couple of 4 inchers at the local gun show this weekend, but not worth the price. Bob

YES, It has an N "in front".

I have cleaned it up from the gun show handling.
I finally got the "standard" grips off, and everything inside is also perfect.
It now rests beside my model 19.

Congratulations on your m28-2 find. I also picked up a 4 inch m28-2 last year and it really has grown on me.The 4 in bl length balances and looks great on the n frame.Hope you get to shoot it soon.
