K-Frame Bullseye Stocks?

Guys, what types of stocks are/were used on K-frames, like my 14-2, when shooting bullseye competitions?

I'd like to get a set that are very hand-fitting, compared to the standard target stocks that are on it now. The only catch is that I'm left-handed.

I was looking at two different models of Nill grips. The left-handed version of the Nill model SW04P8 (here) and also the adjustable match stocks, model SW043L (here).

Now, the biggest question with the second set, SW043L, is how in the world does one thumb cock the hammer into single action with that beavertail resting between the thumb and forefinger, apparently blocking access to the hammer? Are those grips intended only for double action? I thought for sure that most shooting with those types of hand fitting grips was done almost exclusively in single action.

Any other ideas would be great. I've been looking for an older set of Herrett target stocks, but so far I've only found right handed versions.

What he said!! I used Herrett's back in the day---the day I think their products were strictly made to order---assuming nowadays they offer both custom made to order and one size fits all. You want custom made to order----your scores will be your thanks!! You never knew you could shoot that well until you found out about grips that fit---whether they're the Trooper or some other Herrett's model.

And as far as single/double action goes I'm comfortable saying single action is the name of the game. As far as the Nill grips go, they're nice looking. Other than that, I don't know the first thing about them; but I'll bet money you can cock the hammer with no problem whatsoever. The main thing you want is fit---custom made to order FIT---by folks who know what they're doing!!

Herrets also have a full blown bullseye style stock. I can't recall the name but I have two pairs.

Truth is, I ended up deciding that a more traditional stock better suited me, and I do shoot traditional NRA Bullseye. But that's just my personal opinion and taste. Your results may vary.

Thanks guys. I was actually looking at Herrett's Target Revolver Stocks (these), and they look like winners. You send in a tracing of the outline of your hand and the grips are made to fit your hand, so you get a more personalized fit compared to off-the-shelf target stocks.

I just wonder if he could make me a set in Rosewood. I love the way the darker Rosewood looks on these blued K-frames!

At any rate, I'm going to need a LOT of practice before I could ever think of competing in pistol competitions. But it will at least be fun!

+ 1 on Herrett . You can get a set custom made to your hand . Follow instructions on their website . Unfortunately for a lefty choices are limited . I believe for what you get & price wise Herrett would be your best option . Most shoot 50yd SF in SA , 25yd TF/RF I've seen both SA & DA . Many years ago I had more than one HM tell me " Get rid of the training wheels & learn to shoot slabs " . Factory S&W Target grips don't fit my hand either but the Colt Targets do . IMHO orthopedic grips will help those who have problems getting a consistent grip & finger grooves unless in the right locations for your hand are a hinderence .
