I have a few pistols that will be left to me from a relative once the Estate has been settled.
I have the serial numbers but no pics at this time. Just wondering if someone can tell me the approximate date these pistols were made. I guess I should only list the numbers of the S&w in this section and maybe the others in there manufactured section. Correct?

Ok the 1st one- S&W model 10, 38 cal. SN C3816xx
2nd one- S&W K22 .22 cal. sn 6875xx.

Thanks so much.

Welcome....

the model 10 would be late 1956 (approx)

the K22 (K prefix) 1966
Thanks for the response and info. According to the sn on the k22 there is no prefix. Is that possible.

I pulled these serial numbers from the pistol license that was issued to my relative ,they are all typed on the back by the sheriff dept. that handles the licensing.

Thanks

Yes, It could be a prewar K-22 2nd model. Ser# ranges 682404-696952.
There were 1067 manufactured in 1940, 1941.

Photographs would help the experts here identify the gun more precisely.....I am not an expert.

Two questions
1 does it have a barrel rib
2 does it have a large windage screw

If no to one and yes to #2
I want it

I don't have them yet, but when I get them I will check for these and report back.

This is what I think it is going to be. The only other possibility is if someone left off the K when the serial numbers wher put on the pistol lic.

When I take possession, I will post a few pics. I just hope it was taken care off. I have not seen them yet.
