Been wanting a K22 Masterpiece to go along with my K22 Combat Masterpiece for a while. I wanted one from the '50s so they would be fairly close together in age. Never could find the right combination of price and condition until lately. Y'all will likely spot what caught my eye initially on this one. Yes, it was the non-relieved diamond targets:D. Also really like the way the rib tapers in thickness from the rear sight to the front. 5-screw, and going by the Catalog made in early '53. Condition is good with some holster wear and a spot on the sideplate someone scratched up lightly. I'd give it 75-80% or so. Sideplate screws lightly buggered so it has had someone inside it. Looks better in person than in the pics. This was true on the auction pics as well. Will tear it down soon after a good soaking in Ed's Red. Looking forward to taking it and my Model 14 no-dash to the range together.

Oh and, for those that just gotta know, $700 shipped\transferred.

That's a Beauty. Looks like the one a buddy gave me maybe 7 or 8 years back and I still have not shot it. Mines a 1958 Model 17.

Unless the pictures hide some more wear and tear than I can see, I'd give it more like 85% or better… that's a very nice shooter grade that still holds up as a collectible as well, IMHO. Under the grips is there any sign it spent time with the more common Magna-style grips, or is all the wear consistent with the targets?
When you add the relatively rare non-relieved target grips and that barrel configuration to the equation, I'd have to say you struck S&W gold! :D

I am a pretty harsh grader. Would rather under represent than rate too high. There is a slight discoloration that tells me that it originally had magnas on it. Not gonna complain that it does not have the original grips though.:D
