Question for anyone with personal experience with the Kahr P380.

My brother in law works the gun show each time they come to town. He called me last night and had bought a Kahr P380 NIB for essentially wholesale price from one of the other dealers. He told me he would get me the same deal if I wanted one. I'm looking at the reviews on the interweb and it has mixed reviews, but I sort of look at these as people who have them and love them normally won't go to the trouble to post a glowing review.

So for anyone who has one or has owned one, would you buy one if you could pick one up under $300 new in the box? I've owned Kel-Tec P3ATs and P32s most of my adult life and have never had a problem with the recoil from the little guns. What is your experience?

Deal or No Deal?

Thanks in advance!

Sweet trigger (although long), great workmanship.

Buy it at that price.

I have a P9, in 9mm, that I won't ever sell.

I purchased my first Kahr a K40, over 10 years ago. I'm sure things have changed for the better. But this pistol in question, spent most of it's time at the factory. After 7 trips, I told the Kahr and the dealer to issue a refund.

The rest of the story....

My BIL is a nice guy, but he really got confused this time. He had bought a pocket .380 for $225 out the door. He was so excited that when he called me Saturday night, he said Kahr instead of Taurus.

He bought a Taurus .380, not a Kahr! Words just cannot describe how disappointed I was when I finally got to the gun show yesterday afternoon. I had a feeling this was one of those "too good to be true" situations. I had gone to the ATM before hand because the guy was giving us a cash price. Instead of taking home a new Kahr pistol, I left the gun show empty handed, went back home and took the wife to dinner and put the rest of the money back into the checking account. Life is good.:)

P380

I have had a Kel Tec P3AT and while it was a great gun to conceal, it always hurt me to shoot it. I am not a wimp, but this gun just hurt. So did my P11, which I also sold.

I traded the KelTec for a Kahr P380. It is a great gun. I had a big dot night sight put on and have put the obligatory 200+ break in rounds thru it. It eats everything I feed it, but it does not like Buffalo Bore +P's - they are too hot for it. Standard pressure rounds are just fine. It is fun to shoot - the ergo's are so much better for me than the Kel Tec.

However, I have since bought a PM9 which I absolutely love and will not part with. As much as I love S&W's, and I have a bunch of them, this is about the best engineered (I am a P.E.), smallest, best shooting, easily concealable gun there is.

Since I now have a 9, SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) has told me to sell the P380. If you are interested, shoot me an e-mail and I'll give you the best deal I can. If you live in Ohio, we can do a FTF.

I have owned a P380 for about a year and a half. I paid way, way more than $300 and still like the gun very much. I had some issues (mostly failures to return to battery)in the first couple hundred rounds, and none since then. I find it to be easy to shoot and very accurate. I also have a PM9 and love that one, too. I keep the little P380 mostly as a summer shorts pocket gun.
