Last month, Kansas Governor Brownback signed into law the Second Amendment Protection Act.

Apparently U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder now has an issue with Kansas, and sent the governor a letter regarding the new law. Link --> http://media.kansas.com/smedia/2013/05/02/09/53/rFtDO.So.80.pdf

Well... Governor Brownback, along with Secretary of State Kobach have replied to AG Holder. Things are getting interesting!

Makes my plans on returning to Kansas in the near future look better each day!

Response letters here...

Governor Brownback --> Governor to AG Holder: Kansans hold dear the right to keep & bear arms

Very curious as to how this plays out.

Y'know.... I never considered moving to Kansas before today. LOL

PA is a good state on guns and the 2nd Amendment (for the most part) Heck, we are shall issue with Concealed carry and open carry is defacto legal here. But were I to move to warmer climes... Kansas just moved up on the list.

You beat me to it......I was just getting ready to post that letter from Kris Kobach........the state of Kansas just gave Eric Holder a big middle finger......I'm liking this state more and more.

Thanks to Kansas Secretary of State Kobach for helping keep "Fast and Furious" in memory. (It's "on topic" and relates directly to the issue of federal actions). Every state needs a firearms manufacturing facility.

It looks as Missouri (my home state) has taken things a step farther by virtually eliminating all past, present, and future federal firearms laws. We'll see how long it takes AG Holder to send Missouri a letter if the Governor signs the bill into law.

Things are getting interesting indeed!

Holder is wrong. The Constitution is the supreme law of the land. The supremacy clause as it relates to federal vs. state laws applies only to federal laws that are constitutional. Any federal law that violates the Constitution is unconstitutional, and the right of states to nullify unconstitutional federal laws is protected by the 10th amendment. It's not that hard to understand.

I have made copies of these letters to send to my representatives in Ohio to suggest that they follow suit immediately. I hope that people send their thank-you's to these two men, and copies of these letters to their own state reps, demanding that similar action be taken. Bravo Sirs, Bravo!

Holder is nothing more than a puppet taking orders from the top. Obama doesn't care for or abide by the constitution and until enough Americans start to care that the president doesn't care, nothing will change. Loyalty purchased with free cell phones and food stamps is a powerful force and if we can't figure out how to get a grip on things soon, another 12 to 15 million votes will come on line, and that may just be nearly impossible to defend against. This is not meant as political, but an assessment of the current condition.
