I have two PF-9s with hardchrome uppers. Both have functioned perfectly from the get-go. I had to replace the sights, since both shot well above point of aim out of the box, even with 100gr. Pow'rBall. The triggers suck, but they are MUCH better than those on P-11s. For the price, I think they are pretty hard to beat.

Mine shot just a little bit high maybe 3-4" but I was shooting at 10 yards. I do not know how to correct that?? File down the base of the rear sight? I know they sell shims to raise the rear sight.

Or like someones signature, "Aim low Sheriff they are riding Shetlands"

I have two P32's, a first generation and a second generation, and a P11 with the P40 conversion slide and barrel AND the .357 Sig barrel. Basically one platform with a choice of 3 calibers.

I'm a tinkerer, can't help myself, so I'm always trying to fix what aint broke. The KelTecs are never broke except when I do something stupid.

I have a Kel-Tec .32 that is a constant companion. A Glock 19 fills the bill for the primary 9mm.

I'd like to find a compact 9mm. This month's ( Nov. 09 actually ) Combat Handguns has an article on the Kel Tec PF-9 and it looks like a VERY compact 9mm. The 32 cal of the same maker that I have has been a reliable carry gun. So as far as my experience goes, Kel Tec makes a good product.
What do you think? Do you have a Kel-Tec 9mm?
Is there a better choice for a "pocket" 9mm?

Thank you for your imput before I spend my money!

I have a PF9 and it's a pretty good pistol for the money. The finish is not particularly good and it won't shoot WWB, but it does well with anything else. About two months ago I bought a Kahr CW9, a SS/polymer gun with a 3.6 inch barrel that is almost exactly the same size as the PF9. It weighs 3 oz more. The Kahr has performed flawlessly through 400 rounds of anything, and is much better finished than the PF9. The trigger is much better, too. I carry the Kahr most of the time, only going to the Kel-Tec when the extra 3 oz make a difference.

I have carried the P11 since they were first released, and have close to 9000 rds thru the little pig. I dont find it any more difficult to deal with than a chief special in the trigger dept. I did modify the sights to suit my old eyes and change the recoil spring every year or so. I guess 35 yrs of PPC DA shooting has a bearing on the trigger pull issue.

It is well worn and never had a misfire ever! It doesnt like plated bullets as far as accuracy goes, but for close up and practice drills , its acceptable. The JHP are X ring at 20yards on a B27 fast but not to fast.

I think for the price, its a heck of a good deal.

I've carried a P3AT and a P11. I liked the P11 as it could also use 469 magazines, although they hung out below the frame. Both shot fine. I also tried the Kahr PM-9 and wasn't as impressed. It was small and light, but it was a carry alot, shoot infrequent gun. I did qualify with it as a BUG while I was still on the Sheriff's Department. For the money, I think the PF9 is the best value, and I don't have any problem with the reliability of KT guns.

I have two PF-9s with the Chrome Slides.
The one I have shot runs like a charm.

I carry it as a BUG in a IWB holster that was made for a Sig Model P229. Sug as a bug in a rug.

I also have a couple of Keltec .380s and a couple of LCPs. Not much difference in the two for my view point.

I have a PF-9, purchased new. I took directly from the case to the range. First magazine had one failure to feed completely. Cleared it , resumed fire. I've had it about a year now, with no other jams. failures to feed , etc. I bought an extra magazine, factory, which also works well.

Small, flat, pocket sized pistol, and 9mm.

The trigger has a litle too much "hook" to be comfortable for my sized hand, I'd like to find some way to replace it or modify it to have less curvature on the "finger side".

Annoying: Have to push the magazine catch slightly to get the magazine to seat fully. Wrote to the factory and they said it was normal. I think that's BS, but haven't heard if anyone else has the same problem.

FUnctions fine, ok caliber, good size, a few distractions as noted.

Price is fine, but I'd trade up for something else if I found it.
