Got a used Keltec sub 2000 9mm off Gunbroker for a decent price. Always thought they were kinda neat & have read good things about them. Went to the range today and shot it for the first time at 25 yards using the iron sights & with some of my 115 grain round nose reloads. First magazine of 17 rounds went into 1 1/2 inches dead center on the target. Nope, not gonna be changing a thing on it.

This thread needs some pictures! Here’s mine. Much easier to shoot with the red dot. I really was happy when I could get it in OD Green instead of the standard black. And, here is how I carry mine. Nobody has any idea what I have in the briefcase. Pretty Cool, I think.

FYI, there is a company, MCARBO.com that offers a ton of add-ons or things to make this little gun easier and more enjoyable to shoot. For around $15, their Bolt Tube Cover is a fantastic addition. It adds just the perfect amount of cushion for your cheek when shooting. Also, I believe Kel-Tec is offering a hundred dollar rebate on them now.:D

Nothing personal, but guessing most folks haven’t shot a Sub2K in freezing weather. It is a memorable but not enjoyable experience. The prodigious recoil and very cold tube make an impression. A tube cover is especially recommended for cold weather.

I understand why George Kelgren moved to the Space Coast.

One of the very few guns I paid......

I love 9mm carbines and paid the premium for the improved model when they first came out and couldn't be found anywhere. It's a real blast. I wouldn't mind getting a red dot sight, but the folding model is WAY expensive, but I don't miss it. The peep works well and the AR front sight is really adjustable.

I'm a carbine nut anyway and the 9mms are perfect.

PS: I did indulge in a 33 round mag for it. Firepower pluse.:)

I have one, added the tube cover and patched on a recoil pad made from a flip-flop sole. Yeah, I'm cheap. Also wrapped the bolt knob with paracord. It's a hoot to shoot.

After 20 years of sitting on the fence the $100 rebate finally pushed me to get one. Of course I have already blown that $100 on M*CARBO accessories for it. I also converted it from G17 to Multimag with a P320 mag catch. On the first time out I was REALLY surprised by how accurate it was with the stock open sights. After a little sighting in I was was chewing the center out of the target at 50 yards. I haven't zero'ed it with the Romeo5 yet but I am curious to see what it will do at 100 yards.

I had a Gen 1 9mm that took Glock magazines for a while and sold it. It functioned flawlessly, and was reasonably accurate at PCC distances. I just didn't like the way it shouldered, and had other rifles I'd rather have . . .

The problem that I often hear about is that they fold over the top so you can't put a red dot etc on them. the new S&W folding carbine folds to the side so this is not an issue. I would get that one over the kel-tec.

Not a huge problem…
