My brother's death and the efforts at communication that followed made me aware that everyone in the Milky Way galaxy is on bloody Facebook.

Punted into the 21st century, I signed up for it today.

I feel so ashamed...

Even my Daughter who had FB for a little while (peer pressure) dumped it.

Heck I still have a Capetian Kirk flip phone. If i get a "Smart" one it will be for the camera and internet only

Well you should be ashamed. Hopefully you'll regain your senses and let it go. Everyone is NOT on face book my friend and yours truly NEVER WILL be on facebook. I hate loath and despise it. I've lost a lot of good friends from other websites that left me high and dry. They want me to come on over there.

And I hope that each and every one of them gets left behind when the NEXT new cyber fad comes along.

I don't have a FB account but the wife does. Great way to keep up to speed with the kids and grandkids. The silly daily inconsequential stuff (that you would never otherwise know about) helps family stay in tune and close. No shame in that as far as I'm concerned.

It's also easy to scroll right past the inane stuff to get to something worthwhile.The person that posts piles of political blather ? It's fairly simple to block their posts and they will never know.You can also choose on anything you post ,who gets to see it.

Fro what ittleive seen of or know an=bout facebook is--like someone walking into a convience store yakking on their cell phone telling the listener they are headed to the restroom to take a (fill-in-the-blank) I was a cashier at a Circle K many moons ago and you wouldnt believe what you would hear people saying on their phones.....

What's FaceBook????

My wife has FB and gets 40+ STUPID emails a day after spam blockers and Block Sender actions.

I have this Forum and I get 10 interesting emails a day with a few Forum PMs. Why would I want FB? If I get bored, there is Gun Broker for checking the latest values on my S&W stocks & guns .

I haven't visited Facebook for over a year. I have a cousin who insists on posting pictures of pole-dancers, and less sophisticated ladies in quite graphic sexual poses. I'm not anti-porn as such, but I don't want to see it in the "Family Album". I ended up 'un-friending' my entire family, and haven't been back since.

I couldn't have said it better. That's why I did it too and find things you may never have known.

I don't do FB, but some of my relatives do, who are no longer speaking to each other because of what has been posted. This lead to "un-friending" which lead to even more animosity.
