My wife has to be out of town on business next week, she wants to take her Kimber PepperBlaster with her but doesn't know if the TSA has any restrictions on this if it is packed in checked bag. Does anyone have any knowledge on this on whether is it can be taken on a flight. She doesn't want to pack it only to have a TSA agent take it out of her bag.

Mace/Pepper Spray - One 4 ounce (118ml) container of mace or pepper spray is permitted in checked baggage provided it is equipped with a safety mechanism to prevent accidental discharge. For more information visit www.faa.gov., click on Passengers, then Preparing to Fly.

I had looked at the TSA's site before, it leaves alot of personal interpretation. I told her to just leave it in its original packaging and pack it on top. The packing is a nice little tin box, if it is not there when she get off the plane, you will know they didn't like it.
