New to me King modified K22 K33xxx 1948.
King front/ rear sight and action. Action modified for short throw. Shortened bbl. I replaced the non matching stocks with a set of targets.
And wow does it shoot...

It's my new go to .22. I shoot with it better than my M41s or other K22. Or my Colt Scout or High Standard. The orange front blade, white outline rear sight, and short throw hammer just make it easy to shoot well. I don't shoot a lot of paper. Mostly plink soda cans from the back porch.

Looks like a fun gun to shoot.

Being its a 1948 gun it was already a short throw action. Do you think the action has been worked on? King could have if they added the front sight.

If the short throw was stock I'm not sure if King worked on the action or not. I would say the King modified in double action is smoother than my other K22. The dealer I bought it from thought King had worked on the action. Shoots great in any event.

Very nice... it looks familiar to me.:D Here's one from my safe:

I've had the red post replaced since I took these photos...

Richard,

What serial number is your King K22?

Scott

Love. Would be really happy to find such a jewel. I've always had a thing for short barrels. I couldn't bring myself to modify one of my K-22s but would love to find one that's already been done. I should be beaten with a wet squirrel for trading off the 4" M-48 I had 30 years ago.

Mine is a 4". It was shortened by King. SMK

Richard,

What serial number is your King K22?

What lengths are the barrels? SMK 4"? RKMesa 4.5"?

The SN is K105948. I have not lettered it to see exactly how it shipped, but it came to me as a 4" barreled gun with the King front sight, centered roll marks on the barrel and a pre-war thumb piece, and the barrel crowned consistent with a factory crown... Kind of a mystery that I have not yet spent the time to solve. The grips number to the gun.
