Won this yesterday at a Trap shoot and know nothing about it. I don't think the base goes with the knife, doesn't fit very good and there's a couple extra holes.
Knife is interesting, no name or engraving of any kind that I can find.

Not a knife guy so my question, is this a garage sale item or of some value?

Thanks for your comments!

I kinda like it. It's pretty. It'd make a good wall hanger in the den, etc. I don't have any practical use for a knife that big but it has artistic appeal to me. I have not a clue as to it's actual quality or value. If it doesn't have Frost Cutlery on it somewhere I'd take that as a good sign.

I was going to say Damascus also Marshwheeling . It looks like a custom made piece . I owld count myself lucky to win something like that . But then again I don't ever win s*** .

Thanks everyone!

I'll probably take it to the next good size gun show and see if I can turn into some powder or primers.
I live in a small humble dwelling, no place to put it.

I think it scares my wife. :D

Let's call it a trophy , you won it in a trap shoot , have a small trophy plate engraved , with all the particulars of the match , your name , date , club , etc , mount on the display base and proudly show it off to friends .
I have a few cheesy looking trophies that I won in early 1980's shooting matches and now that I'm pushing 70 , find those trophies mean a lot to me.
I say make it a trophy and proudly display it...a lot of people never manage to win a shooting trophy .

That's a great idea Gary! I might just do that.

With it in a box my wife won't have to worry about it falling and cutting her leg off.

I was gifted a large Bowie knife with a blade made like that. It is in fact a Damascus blade that I think was made in "P" land. I sharpened it with a series of stones and it took a very good edge and has held the edge extremely well. From what little I have learned about these knives, some have very good steel while others are junk.

The only thing I ever won at a trap event is the right to come back and try again.

I'd say keep it, enjoy it or give it away.
