mentioned in the feedback a couple of days ago that I would have pics of these up by the weekend. so here are both pairs of grips on guns and each side shown. what do you think?
I had been after kurac to make colt grips since I bought my first pair of smith grips from him. the grips on the 8in gun are special. they have the feel of ropers with a little flare on the bottom of the grip. will get to shoot them this weekend.
Great lookin' stocks! Is that an un-fluted cylinder on the 8" gun? Never seen that on a Python, and I've seen quite a few. The red insert is also very uncommon.
f.t.
the 8in gun does have an unfluted cylinder. the gun came from acusport back in the day when pythons were available. this one was made close to end of production. I think they were using up parts at that time. it came in a plastic box with a cardboard surround with no writing on the endflap at all. it was bought as an 8in gun and nothing was said about the unfluted cylinder. have been considering getting a colt letter just see what it says. have a couple of more pythons I could post, including a spec. order that I gave myself for my 27th birthday present if you guys would like to see it.
the 4in. is just a standard gun that has been back to colt for rr/wo sights and custom tuned action. the 6in with ivory grips was my 27th birthday present to myself. it has a tuned action, eliason sight pkg. my initials in flush gold inlay on right side of frame below cylinder window and of course the grips. these are all of the pythons I have left. ironically,i wanted an unfluted cylinder on the custom order and colt said no. then years later I get what I thought was going to be a standard 8in gun and it shows up with an unfluted cylinder.
