Hey, I recently purchased a used HK VP9 optics ready 9MM. Putting a Burris FFIII on it for use as a range toy. Would like to get a kydex paddle holster for that purpose. I'm usually a leather man but for this I think kydex is appropriate. No experience with the material, and looking for suggestions and things to look for and things to look out for. TIA.

Here is a Safariland Model 518 paddle in kydex. It is suede lined so there
is no noise when drawing. It is shown with my S&W 642, but I believe
Safariland keeps up to date, so they probably have a model that would
work for you.

I've used a local maker for several of my Kydex holsters. The have good fit and finish. Bare Arms Custom Holsters: Custom Kydex Gun Holsters | Gun Holsters | Bare Arms Holsters They can fit to numerous custom setups, such as lights, lasers, and red dots. If it's not something in stock, they will make a mold. They did for me to fit a TLR-4 on my Ruger American 45.

Take a look at the Safariland 7TS ALS series. Level II security but also a fast draw. Material is more friendly to gun finishes than standard Kydex. One variant has both belt and paddle back pieces.

On closer look, only the 578 series will work in your case. It has the GLS retention device; not as fast as the ALS system IMO.
