Happy New Year! Hey I'm kinda new here and I hope I haven't stuck my foot in my mouth but... What posts or reply's have you read here or other sites that seemed pretty lame. Sometimes I wonder if were being set up by a long time shooter cause some question or statements on here or other sites are hard to believe...

Whenever you get a large group of people together, either in person or online, you are going to hear a tall tale here and there.
Just the nature of the beast.
Kind of like fish stories. Once in a while the fish grows a little between the catching and the telling.

It is coffee talk.
When friends get together there is always several different conversations going. Some you want to talk about and join in and some just don't hold your interest.
Most folks like to converse.

We have a saying at the VFW and that's "The first liar in never stands a chance"

Some people tend to post snarky remarks saying things on line they would never say in person, and fortunately they are in the minority. Most folks are here to learn and share, others I just ignore since they have nothing to contribute.

Although I have little to contribute, because of my lack of knowledge. I enjoy this forum the most of the few I do read because of the genuine people here.

All in all, I believe this forum is one the the most civil and helpful out there.

This is a good forum compared to many other shooting forums. Take a look at trapshooters.com sometime and you will appreciate the posters here.

99.99% of all the posts on this forum are fit for mothers and children to scan and read. Thats a plus in my view.

Everyone is being so POLITE today. Maybe it's a New Year thing? LOL.

I can think of several often seen posts here that either make me scratch my head in disbelief or downright annoy me.

You'll always run across trolls in any online forum. They don't last long around here though. Great forum.

Post I hate are............Convince me to buy this..........

I do get some value from posts where a specific, older gun is being discussed, and often learn about any potential issues, other owner's experiences, pricing, etc. Of course, you can find a lot of information by searching, particularly on models that are current production and/or frequently discussed.

This forum is much "nicer" for lack of a better word...there are some (not naming names) where even the moderators have attacked members, cursing is prevalent, etc. That sure doesn't happen here!

For me it takes the place of my old coffee break buddys. After I retired I moved to a new state. Where I once had many friends and knew many people, now I dont know near as many here yet.
As I have always had the intrest in guns, I have a lot of old knowledge and really dont need much education or opinions from others concerning the guns themselves.
I have noticed generaly, certain things follow certain interests. For instance, if a person is into guns, it usualy follows that they are also the conservative type, many are also into motorcycles, planes etc.
I have always said, if I can ask a person maybe 3 questions I can pretty acurately predict how they will answer many more questions.
While I can contribute to gun talk pretty well, I am NOT here for just that. I have found that I have many other things in common with people that like guns!
