I have been trying to get a price quote from a Lansing, Michigan area gunshop that can both supply a rifle and accessories, do a little low-tech "gunsmithing" --- add Picatinny rail, change out drop-in trigger assembly, mount a rail and red-dot, and similar uncomplicated work. I've evidently made a poor choice of a shop that seems inept and unconcerned with my request, and indifferent to making a reasonably lucrative sale. If anyone can recommend a Lansing area vendor with these capabilities, please let me know, with contact info...

jkc, if you don't have any luck finding anything in the Lansing area, you
could always check with Williams Gun Sight, off I-69, just east of Flint.

Did you go to Classic Arms? I used to live in Lansing. I did not like Classic Arms and bought few things. Dicker and Deal had some deals. Mostly I would go to Total Firearms....or just drive to Jays up in Clare.

I work in Lansing every day, But since I do all my own work I can't come up with a place that I've heard that does good work in the area. With that said go to Williams gun site, take lots of money, and get ready to wait.

Thanks for the replies, folks. Gator Farmer, my recent experience with Classic Arms was pathetic, a study in how not to run a retail store, much less a gun shop. Total Firearms was the subject of my complaint... I'm not there in Michigan, just trying to spec out a one-stop-shopping package for a family member. I'm going to abandon the effort, and turn this into a DIY project. The few tools necessary for the minimal "gunsmithing" required will pay for themselves, and be useful on a continuing basis, and no special skills are required --- pin punching and screw turning. And, the costs of the basic rifle and the desired accessories can be purchased at lower cost, with minimal shopping around. Moreover, I'm informed that the rifle in question is not in stock, on backorder with all distributors, with no delivery projections in sight, so one of those online auctions which may not be named here looks like a better bet.
