Ever heard of the Douk Douk knife? They’re affordable French pocket knives with almost a century of rich history. Used heavily all over the parts of the world with French influence.
I’ve owned several and they make excellent affordable slicers. They have a nice appearance, notice the strange tribal character on the handle. That’s got it’s own history to it. These knives are still handmade in the exact same factory by the same family using almost unchanged methods for 100 years.
They’ve got several styles and sizes. The bigger one is the flagship model and I’ve got the smaller version as well next to it. Carbon steel that takes a wicked edge and is easily touched up. Has a robust back spring and half lock for safety.
Very worth a look. You’ll really enjoy them. Rustic, reliable, and inexpesnive. Excellent workman’s knifes. I carried one in Afghanistan.
