I have used the lee auto primer for years now and literally worn out 3 of them.recently picked up one of the new ones with the square try's and have had nothing but problems.the primers do not feed well at all.have used small and large primers and still the same problem.does anybody have any input.

P.s yes it is broken in with over 500 plus primers put threw it.
Thanks

Are you lubing it at the contact points? They last a lot longer with lube.

I've used the Auto Prime for years and pretty recently bought the XP after breaking my old one. The XP is a little more finicky, but not a problem for me. I've found holding it at an angle with the primer tray up helps the feeding.

Lubing the contact points definitely helps with seating the primers. I couldn't figure out why primer were so hard to seat with the XP until I realized I hadn't lubed it.

New Auto Primes

Don't feed as reliably as the old model; perhaps the bugs will eventually be worked out.
