I was cleared to shoot mid bores (9/38) a few days ago after my shoulder surgery, and it was not too bad. Our local rules have apparently changed to allow any one firearm for qualifications.

I like to test myself, so I did it with three platforms: Wilson KZ 9 for 1911 format; S&W PC Shield 4" w/RDS for striker fired, and an M66 for a revolver. Passed them all pretty solidly, in site of my vision presenting a problem. I also had trouble with the Kramer MSP paddle for my M66, which I do not recall having before. Drawing was grim. It might have been residual weakness and limited range of motion from the surgery. I am not cleared to resume resistance training and probably will not be until after my (likely soon) kidney transplant.
