I hate to do it, but up for sale is my Les Baer SRP Commanche. I’ve had this gun for a few years, but when materials for reloading became hard to find several years ago I put her in the gun safe where she’s been ever since. This is a beautiful gun with some of the most gorgeous stocks I’ve ever seen. The only blemish on the entire gun is a small spot where the finish on the top of the barrel, at the ejection port, is worn, caused by the action cycling when firing.
This 1911 also has some special order features such as a serrated rear of slide and serrated top of slide to match radius @ 30lpi.
A new SRP Commanche is listed on Les’ website for $2,490. With the additional features, if you ordered this one the price would be $2,645, and this gun is worth every penny! Simply a joy to carry and shoot!
Below is information I took from the Les Baer website to tell you about the features. However, I’ll have to change three things: First, my 1911 does not have the DuPont® S coating that Les’ newest guns do, but rather it has the Bear Coat finish which is highly self-lubricating and resists moisture and corrosion well.
Secondly, it does not come with the wooden presentation box. However, in it’s place I’ll add a real bonus, a custom made Tucker Gunleather HF1 holster in black cherry, white stitching, with the Cross Cut full stamping. It is for belt widths up to 1 ½-inches. It fits this SRP Commanche like a glove and is a joy to wear. I don’t presently have pictures of this holster, but can e-mail them to anyone who’d like them. In the meantime, see this holster at Tucker Gun Leather | Premium Leather Gun Holsters.
Thirdly, it comes with only one 8-round magazine.
Total price for this 1911 is $2,100 shipped to your FFL from me, a non-FFL. Or, if in Georgia and willing to meet in the North West part of the state, $2,050. This includes the gun with the special features, the Tucker Gunleather HF1 holster, and one magazine. No trades since I need the money for a new bird dog for my grandsons.
First "I'll Take It" followed by PM gets it.
From the Les Baer website, with the items mentioned just above removed or updated:
