Let' Rawk!

Love Skynrd. Can't stand to hear "Free Bird" anymore though.
Got too much playtime i guess. Kinda' like "Stairway to Heaven"
did by Led Z. If you want to listen to Skynrd listen to "on the hunt",
"gimme back my bullets", "curtis lowe", "simple man",
"needle and the spoon". The old stuff that don't get much air play
but was there best stuff IMHO.

I've seen Maynard James Keenan with Tool, APC and Puscifer 4 times front row this past year...does that count?? \o/ rock on!

ogilvyspecial ... As a Michigan music aficionado, did you hear about Mike Davis (MC5) passing away a few weeks back? I'm still heartbroken ... he was a dear friend of mine.

Not a full blown metal head, but definitely into harder progressive rock, as well as jazz fusion.
Definitely into Queensryche, Dreamtheatre, Corrosion of Conformity, Tantric, Soundgarden, Rush.
Played some Anthrax & Metallica in one of my bands, but Metallica has kinda become candy store metal haven't they? Seems some of the hair metal dudes are clinging to something that's not there anymore.
I think Godsmack, Staind & Shinedown write some catchy tunes, along with Seether & Evanesence.

Maiden, Skynrd, can't forget Priest, but I really grew up listening to AC/DC. Bon Scott was the man, I could live without the new dude (he'll always be the new dude no matter how long he's been with them).

Yes I did.

Tonight a friend called me who had visited Mike on occasion, at his
place, and we talked about him......

The MC5, with Mike Davis (Bass) right front.

Been no mention of Seether yet, any other fans out there? I think they blow the doors off most of the new bands! I'm mostly a classic rock guy, Rush, Tull, J Geils, ZZ Top, Bon Scott AC/DC and whatnot, but I think Seether is great! Let's throw Faith No More into the mix too, a lot of the new bands owe a debt to them.

i like seether. adelitas way is a good band that reminds me of nickelback. they were good before they sold out. I liked the Faith No More CD that had epic on it, but was no a fan of any others. Mike Patton of FNM had a side band called Mr. Bungle, i enjoyed them more than FNM.

how about some bands with female leads/members. of course there is evanesence with amy lee, but christine scapia of lacuna coil(from italy) can belt it out too. then you have flyleaf, skillet, within temptation, and halestorm. "old time chicks" would be lita ford and vixen, with the tops being heart. love me some ann wilson vocals.
