April 25th, ANZAC day. A day of remembrance in Australia, New Zealand, the Cook Islands, Tonga and Niue.

The fine military from down under have spilled their blood alongside military from the United States for nearly 100 years now. Let's join those down under in remembering their fallen.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Lest We Forget.

also respectfully commemorated in Turkey (while they eventually won the battle, they highly respect the guts and determination that their adversaries showed). I will, hopefully, be getting down to Galipoli/Canakkale around mid-May and will post pictures if I can.

If it weren't for them repeatedly getting shafted by the British military, there probably wouldn't be an Australian motion picture industry:

Breaker Morant
Gallipoli
ANZACs

Do a you tube search for "And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda" for some interesiting period photos.
