Hey all,

I'd like to see some pre M&P 45acp amd 9mm pics. I guess I am talking about the 3rd Gen series with the TSW thrown in. I have always liked those but never had the chance to own one. I can certainly see a compact 45acp in my future, but I am not entirely certain at what all models are out there. Same with the 9mm.

A buddy had a 9mm that wasn't a 3rd gen, it was blued and I think it was a 908. I liked the feel of it too, nice pistol. I think they also made a 45ACP in that series as well.

If you have any pics of these autos, how about posting them with a description so I know what I'm looking at.....

Also, how about throwing in a pic or 2 of the M&P45 compact. I haven't been able to find a decent pic of one.

One last thing, if you couldn't pic an M&P or a 1911, which 45acp and 9mm would you select for CCW use and why?

Thanks for the help.

The 908 is a 3rd Gen S&W.

I would probably pic a 6906 for it's 12 round capacity with option of adding finger extension and extending to the 15 round mags of the 5900 series. Alloy frame makes it lighter than full stainless steel counterparts.

Here is my 5906 w/Crimson Trace Lasergrips.

That would be the 457. I have a 908 (9mm) and two 457's (45ACP). 908 and 457 are both are single stack, and they are nearly the same size. The 457 has a 1/4' longer barrel and is a little bit thicker to accomodate the fatter cartridge. It (the 457) is my main 3-season (fall, winter, spring) carry gun. The 908 is considered 3rd gen. The 457 is 2nd gen from what I've read.

One of these days I'll get around to replacing my digital camera and get some pictures up.

A family shot - 3 9mm pistols and a .45

Clockwise from top right - 5906, 4566, 39 no-dash, 39-2

I've got one of each caliber (well, S&W anyway) so far. My 5906 was my first metallic-cartridge firing firearm, after collecting cap n ball guns for a few years, given to me by a close friend. It was his first pistol as well. The SW1911 was my first NIB gunshop pistol purchase to celebrate getting my LTC. They've appeared in other threads, but not this one til now :)

This is my EDC, 4513TSW, a compact. Hides under a pull-over summer shirt no problem.
