Shown below are my 22lr Stevens Walnut Hill model 417-2 in it's original configuration, with added sunshade on the front sight [by original owner] & my recent purchase Lyman Super Target Spot 25x scope. Also shown is my Stevens Favorite model 1917 in 32 Colt [long or short, converted to centerfire] with a Weaver B6 scope.

Hopefully the rifles don't have to be 100 years old to play this game:

Browning Low Wall .22 Hornet:

Ruger #1A in 7.62x39 Rooski:

My favorite is this BSA Martini 12/15 .22 long rifle. Some people say it's not a true falling block, but it's close enough for me:

Single shots are my favorite!
There is a NO.1 in there that Wayne Baker chambered in 22-454
Another odd one is the Wycliffe in 270

Walls, right? Billy Dixon, locale of the longest, successful, 45.70, aimed shot ever, right?? (Although maybe he was aimin’ for the horse.)

C’mon, Wyatt, fill us in on that recovered bullet!
A collector friend in Kansas bought a batch of bullets from another collector dug up at Adobe Walls and gave me this one. I don’t remember other details but should ask again. It looks .45 caliber alright. There must be tons of lead around there, not just from the fight but hunters had a lot of shootin contests there in spare time.
I think Billy Dixon made his famous shot with a borrowed .50. Must have aimed at the sky. Maybe a young Bat Masterson cast this bullet I have!

Let's see if it's possible to access one of my old P'bucket photos from an old IHMSA forum thread of one of my favorite falling blocks purchased from a pawn shop some years ago.:

Round about way to get it, funnily enough it was the first image that popped up when I googled ".32-20 Remington Hepburn"....

IHMSA forum link if anybody cares:

IHMSA Forum • View topic - 32-20 pistols with 0311"-0.312" grooves?

ETA: Here's another photo, maybe:

And the Milsurps.com thread from which it came, apparently before purchase. (Try it before you buy it, what a deal!):

BPCR at the range (W/O the blackpowder, so far!) 32-20 Hepburn

(Sorry, lost access to most of my photos when P'bucket went all wonky some time back.)

Winnie's

A photo of my Winchester model 1885 low wall in 38-40, with repro Malcolm 6x scope. The other pics are of my Winchester 1885 low wall in 22 short, a previous owner spent a ton of money adding new stocks, barrel, skeletonized hammer, MSA rear tang sight, Lyman #7 Windguage front sight, has factory single set trigger. It was set up in early 1900's for the indoor Schuetzen matches in the winter.

In 1988 two friends of Mike Venturino hooked me up with him when my wife and I went to Livingston, Mt to visit our daughter. This was when Yellowstone was on fire. In his gun/reloading room was a Rem. Hepburn leaning against a table. He said it was Hank Williams Jr’s. Also out were some Sharps because he was about to go to Raton to compete. I remember a Shiloh military musket. He also showed me his Triple Lock Target. That Hepburn stood out with that lever on it.

No Stevens yet, although I am looking for a Walnut Hill or 414. I dream of a Stevens schuetzen. For now, all I have are Winchesters:

ILYRhfz.jpg

High walls, top .32-40, bottom .45-70. Both #3 full octagon with set triggers.

Top, two band high wall .22LR. Middle, high wall .22LR, rare takedown. Bottom, low wall Winder .22S, scarcer but less desirable civilian.

Hairtrigger I always wondered about the Wycliff how do you like it, about 20 years ago in the gunlist they were selling all the left over ones after the company shut down, the parts were all there but not heat treated I shoud have bought one but did not. Jeff

It certainly is not as refined as a Ruger number one. It is in 270 caliber which I cannot use for deer in Ohio, most of my single shots are in varmint calibers as we have plenty of woodchucks

My main draw to the rifle is that it was made by an Ohio company
