I'll play, but it sure is hard to get a good picture.

The small flags in the top portion are the countries I visited in my career, all except one. There is no flag for Taiwan, they were not members of the UN, which is where I ordered all of the flags from.

And this one was a bonus. It is hand painted on the back of a piece of glass and then the wavy glass is mounted behind it. It looks much better when light can get behind it.

Nice boxes guys. Only 18 months and 8 days until I retire and put 28 years into a shadow box. Took a while, but I do believe I'm ready for a grown-up job.

My son in law's gift.

My son in law gave me this several years ago when he was about to become the youngest non-medical major in the USAF. I was surprised at the time and money he put into this shadow box for me. He was surprised at my lack of interest in my military accomplishments. In 1974, if you were promoted to E-5 during your first 4-year enlistment only 9% chose discharge instead of re-enlistment.

I put this together for Dad for Chrsitmas this year. He was in the Navy from 63-67. First on the USS Lake Champlain, then the USS Intrepid.
This is the only picture I took.

Mine is rather plain, so I'll post my father-in-law's WWll decorations. I'm very proud of his military awards. I miss him and his unbelievable battle stories. He was very active with his unit reunions that unfortunately stopped in 2006 due to illnesses and travel restrictions because of old age. He passed away in 2008. May God bless all veterans.

I'll be flying my own flag over here in the 'Stan and making a shadow box for my parents. My Dad was White House Comms from '68-72 and Mom was an Army nurse from '72-80. I'm also making separate ones for my Grandpa who was Navy and my Aunt who was Army as well.

Here's mine -

I was assigned to USN MCB7, then reassigned to public relations staff, 3rd Naval Contruction Brigade Drill Team. The small Seabee pin second from lower left, was a gift from a CEC officer who served in WWII. He was on Iwo Jima, and helped finish construction on the air strip used by B29's. He gave it to me during the national VFW convention, Toledo, Ohio, 1970. He thought it should be kept by another Seabee.
