I have a Leupold varaible power scope and the power adjusting ring is very difficult to turn. What can I do to make it easier to turn short of sending the scope back to Leupold for repair. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it?

They are all fairly difficult. It is because of the sealing rings necessary to keep the nitrogen gas the scope is filled with from leaking out and moisture getting in. There really isn't anything that can be done about it.

Go with the factory repair. It's painless- call them first. They're very customer oriented!

Good shooting.

i have vx-2's and vx-3's. all the vx-2 adjustment rings turn hard, that's just the way it is.

They are all slow to turn because of the seals, but if yours is very difficuly, make sure your rings are not too tight before you send it back. That could cause that as well.

I own quite a large number of Leupold scopes and have encountered the same problem. Like others have said they need to be snug, but you shouldn't have to reef on it. I sat and twisted one back and forth slowly at first, then eventually a little quicker until it lossened up to about the same level as the rest.

If it is that tight, send it in to them, and you'll have it back within a day or two of them receiving it. They are without equal in my experience for customer service and turn around time.
