I am looking for production numbers on a Smith & Wesson 625-7 in .45 Colt. This is a stainless, 3 inch barrel, round butt N frame that was offered around 1999-2000. Lew Horton is no longer in business so their records are unavailable. As I recall, the original advertisement stated a production run that I think was approximately 350. The Product Code is 148121 and Special Order No. is 8016.

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks and God bless,

Hugh

4th edition PG. 303 states 555 reported for Lew Horton, plus an unknown quantity for others. Product code 148121 produced from 1998 - 2000 in 45 Colt. Serial number prefixes include CDD, CDZ, and CEB.

Dino - Thank you. The 555 production number is what I was looking for.

Thanks and God bless,

Hugh

I have seen in other Posts that there is a contact person for Lew Horton that can provide you with LH production information. Unfortunately, I can't recall how to contact them. Perhaps another Forum member will be along to provide that information. Good luck, enjoy!

Thanks to all who replied. Very helpful information here. I will definitely contact Susan Lorosso. Mine is a CDZ prefix and early 2000 sounds right.

Thanks and God bless.

OP, that’s a piece I was looking for, but couldn’t find. However, I did scratch that itch by acquiring a 3” 625-3 in 45 acp and a 625-6 MG in 45 Colt. Improvise, overcome, adapt. :D1435C741-810B-4C63-BC96-46F3E9DC6603.jpg1C39BBE5-B87F-497C-8CAD-264A466C86E0.jpg

I bought my second 625-7 3” today (two this month) from forum member Greenmachine. What a truly nice gentleman. We happen to live in the same area. I love these guns. I’m a sucker for 45 Colt. Grabbed a 625-6 Light Hunter too…. So Hugh, don’t be surprised if I try to buy this from ya!

You may to want to check SCSW 4th edition pg 304 product code 149121. 155 units were made for Lew Horton. Your 625 acp could very well be one of them!
