I had to try it - my 632 Pro seemed a bit stiff - I thought it might be a stronger spring to pop the .327 Federal Magnum's small rifle primers. Everyone knows a .22 rimfire needs a strong hammer spring to pop it's tougher rimfire primer - and a .22 WMR is even stiffer. A call to Brownells found only reduced power J-frame hammer springs (I know I got assortments there in J-frame hammer springs in the past...). I ordered two - one for the 632 Pro and one for the 651.

The 632 Pro blasted away with two boxes (100) of AE (Federal) 100gr JSP and one box (20) Speer 115gr Gold Dots, both in .327 Fed Magnum - and 'hot' ammo (1300-1400 fps from that 2 1/8" barrel). When the feeling returned to my hand, I went to my .32 S&WL reloads - 96gr LRNFP (.313") over ~2 gr Titegroup in both Winnie and Fed SP primed mixed .32 S&WL brass (~80 rounds). Next - 42 rounds of an old box of 50 antigue Remington 88gr lead .32 S&W. Finally, 24 total of three assorted .32 ACPs, including Winnie 60gr Silvertips. All fired DA, of course, and uneventful save one of the really nasty looking .32 S&Ws - it took a second DA pull to go bang. Shooting at a berm ~60yd - aiming chest height - the .327s were close, the S&WLs were very low, the .32 S&Ws required a higher aim point, lest they hit the dirt in front of the berm. The ACPs hit the bottom of the berm. BTW, the .32 ACP's vestigial rim can slip under the ejector star, if some care isn't excercised in their spent extraction.

So, my 'ultimate .32 revolver' - Zombie protector - is reliable - and a bit softer in trigger pull - with five different calibers; .32 ACP, .32 S&W, .32 S&WL, .32 H&RM (assumed), and .327 Federal Magnum. The perfect pocket Zombie protection... you're bound to find some kind of ammo for it!

The 651 didn't fare so well - it likely will be reliable with a full power Wolff hammer spring - and a lot lighter than the OEM spring provides in DA pull. With the reduced power spring, it is far better than my 63s... I knew that was too good to be true! I had no ftfs SA - about 1 in 10 DA - not bad, but too many, more with the apparently dirtier shooting Hornady Critical Defense (45gr FTX) than either plain or hp MaxiMags. BTW, the last reload from shooting two boxes of MaxiMags (100 rounds) was easier to load and extract than the second cylinder of Hornadys from a previously clean cylinder! The Hornady Critical Defense ammo seems to be pretty nasty. I'll get a standard power Wolff hammer spring for it - and update afterwards.

Another spring change - a standard Wolff leaf in my Governor - great improvement - no ftfs with three .410 loads, including the Winnie PDX, .45 ACPs, or Speer 250gr Gold Dots in .45 Colt. Happy change there! No more wise acre remarks like "I didn't know S&W's Sigma line made revolvers!" when a range-mate pulls the trigger on my Governor.
