Like to know what model this is

This is an older model I found where the slide was so bad you could not read the markings o. It.

I know it is some sort of a sd9 or 40, but just not sure which.

The barrel is about 4.5 inches long. Any help will be helpful because I would like to rebuild it.

I’ve never owned one, but it looks to be from an early Sigma 9F or 40F. You might try phoning S&W with the serial number.

It's a Gen 1 Sigma SW9F or SW40F.

You should be able to identify whether its 9mm Luger or .40 S&W simply by examining the barrel.

Unfortunately the slide is in such a bad way you cant read any markings, it has holes that are ate through it, and when I did contact s&w they couldn't tell me much other then from the frame.

The barrel is 5.5 inches and I did buy a 17 rd 9mm mag and it fit like a glove.

I just dont want to spend the money on it if it is not worth fixing.

If you are at all familiar with firearm assembly/disassembly, you can find and put a replacement slide on it and see what happens. Even if you eventually need a gunsmith for it, they'll want the new slide anyhow.
