No, they are both akin to horse manure covered in wax.
Good question, Steve. I find the Little Debbie cakes to be poor knockoffs of Hostess and other products. The Debbie cakes are overly sweet, IMO, if that is possible to allege, and I find the dough to be of a lesser quality.
The only LD products I consider halfway decent are the cinnamon swirl buns/rolls with the pecan chunks, and the honey buns. They last for months unopened in my pantry because there is nothing in them that can grow stale.

P.S. 4 shows in 4 consecutive weeks. Cashman was poor, Sunset is always poor, Henderson already has a poor rep, and I can't stand SouthPoint Casino.

I like the Hostess mini donuts.If their fruit pies didn't have a 1/2 inch of icing I would give them the thumbs up too.
There's something about Miss Debbie's snacks that makes me think they are made in a lab instead of a bakery.Can't put my finger on it.

Cashman I hate. I detest paying $3 for a ticket that says "park here at your own risk".
Sunset is often flaky. Guy at work had a table there recently and did very poorly.
Never been there, but I am told that Henderson is better for milsurps. Is that true in your experience?
South Point is the only show I attend regularly. I wouldn't call it Smith central though.

Well, back in MY day the Hostess was the thing. Their fruit pies were the cats pajamas!
Hostess. No contest. Love me some Ding Dongs. And the lemon pie - although calling the filling "fruit" is like calling Velveeta "cheese".

IMO, Hostess makes much better snack cakes. My favorite cup cakes are the Hostess yellow cake with chocolate frosting...but they are hard to find...I think they only make them certain times of the year. The stores always have the chocolate cake with chocolate frosting kind...but I don't care for them. I also like the yellow Zingers.

Many of them don't hold up to my childhood memories of them. Not sure if that is be because the recipies have changed or because I have.

Little Debbie is located just down the road from where I live in
Collegedale, TN. From the people I know who work there, they tell me it is a very clean plant. They've come a long way from just being a local bakery to a national seller.
I will pick a Moon Pie if I have a choice.. but with Little Debbie(McKee Foods Corporation), Chattanooga Baking Company, and M&M Mars near by.. I don't have to reach to far for a snack!

The Nutty Bars are good, the Swiss Cake Rolls are good, and these things are EXTREMELY good.
Don't believe I've ever eaten Hostess anything.
Moon Pies are also good, but Moon Pies are chocolate. Anything else is just - wrong.

I have an Amish Deli a few miles from home. I don't know which came first, the Hostess Fruit pie or the Amish Fry pie. But The Amish have got Hostess beat seven ways to Sunday! Ivan
