As a native Houstonian I have few sports teams that I can brag about. Last year the Astros made me proud, and they might just do it again this year.

Off my radar until recently is a group of kids having fun and doing good. They are not just from the Houston area, they are from my neighborhood. Post Oak Little League.

I am proud of all the young folks doing the Little League World Series in PA, but I want my neighbors to win! If you do not have a team to root for, please root for my neighbors.

Grew up about 5 miles from that field.

Even got to play my all star game on what was then the main field but is now the secondary field.

Little League is my favorite sport. They play their guts out and truly love the game.

Nice!

I went to Paramedic school (1984 grad) in Williamsport and we "worked" the series, it was a great time!

I have been watching for the last week and a half. Japan played its first game the other day and won. It's always refreshing to see how the Japanese players show respect to their manager by removing their hats when he gathers them around for a talk. Don't see that very often.

These kids play the game like it was meant to be played....for fun.

The Georgia/Hawaii game went 11 innings last night. The longest in tourney history. It was a tale of two defenses. Hard fought with Hawaii taking it with a walk-off.

The tears on both sides were real.

We have been watching the Little League World Series all week at my club (aka: adult day care center, with liquor license). I have enjoyed it very much! All of those young people embody the spirit of the game and the joy of competition so much more so than any professional team ever will.

As a former little leaguer, I can truly appreciate what it would take to make it that far. Only made it to the local all-star game. Great times!

TX vs. NY on now.
3 guesses who I'm rooting for. First two don't count!

Well, crud.
Well pitched, tight game.
Congrats to NY, Post Oak not out of the tourney yet.

I’ve been watching a few games here and there, great stuff. Some of those pitchers really can bring it can’t they, with speeds in the 70+ mph range.
It’s difficult for me to believe all of them are 13 or younger.

Go Staten Island!

OK, now I gotta vent. ESPN is the worst! More than once the teams get into the 5th or 6th inning and then these idiots switch the game to the ESPN News Channel...a channel I DO NOT GET and start a new game! How dumb is that! This has happened about 4 times all ready. I am missing the end of the Mexico Canada game as they switched to the Texas Georgia game. Just wasted an hour and a half of my time.

Good luck to Texas....hope I get to see the end of this game......

Good , clean competitive sports w/o all of the "hoopla" and politics involved.

these kids bring it
these kids show respect and professionalism at such a young age

I love this yearly event!
