I found this Remington nylon model Apache 77 at a LGS today. It doesn't appear to have been fired any, if at all. Original box, bottle of RemOil and one magazine; unfortunately no papers. Reading some of the previous posts on the forum this model was sold in Kmart stores in the late 1980's and the last of the nylon rifles with about 55,000 manufactured.
Didn't really need it but figured it might make a future gift for a grandchild, one day.
Picture isn't that great but I'll try again in a different light in the next couple of days. The picture makes it look black but it's actually a mottled green color.
Edited to add- picture of box end and box also has the Kmart store code on bottom - Durham, NC.

Best .22 ever made. My first rifle. Sold in college when I was a young fool. (I am still a fool, just an old one now).

They have a cult following and prices to match. I suspect anything south of $550 or more for a like new one is a steal, but I don't follow them super closely. Your grandkid(s) planned or current have one fine grandpappy!

Bama--You probably should have bought, especially if you want one and if it was a 66. They command a premium. Those NIB or LNIB are $1200 to $1500. One of my friends bought one that looked like it had been dragged behind a pick-up and was maybe cleaned every 10 years PLUS 10,000 rounds. Seriously it was the filthiest gun I have ever seen. He paid $300 for it, spent a half day cleaning it, and it was shooting like new that afternoon. They are like the old Smiths--indestructible.

That one was a 77 with the magazine. The one I should have bought was a nice 66 for $300. Went back to take a second look and it was gone.
I was not really wanting one but thought it was a good deal.
Oh well, I can't buy'em all.
