Loading 10mm for the 610

Has anyone ever loaded any of those 40 cal. bullets designed for the old 38-40 cowboy cartridge for their 610? These lead bullets typically run in the 175-195gr. range and are cast with a cannelure for a roll crimp. Anyone ever try these bullets roll crimped into their 10 mm cases? I have loaded 255gr LSWC's in 45 auto rim cases and used a special Redding crimp die that will put a mild roll crimp on those bullets. This would be a similar application for shooting clipped 10mm rounds in the 610.

Yes, I purchased some LRNFP cowboy bullets in 10MM cases. The problem I had was the driving band entering the throat. The bullets were .402" or so and the throats were .400" or .401". Seated as long as they were in the crimp groove proved to be a problem so I had to short seat them.

They looked cooler than all get out but didn't work that well. I'll have to check some of my data to see what I used. They would seat OK in a 40S&W case and chamber fine.

I load mostly 206 grain RNFP bullets from my SAECO 200 gr. mold for my Model 610. It's deadly accurate and a great bullet.
