What is the problem
I get a primer poping out slighty from the case pocket whilst shooting making it hard to rotate the cylinder.
I keep stepping the load down from 2grs of VV310 to 1.6 and still get the problem.
I am thinking that the pockets may be getting worn out a little
whats your opinion
I havent found out what the pocket size is to measure them,if someone has can you post the measurement.
I know to much pressure will pop the the primer a little and
to much will also give you primer flow.
When i use this type of load in my auto no problems what so ever
Thanks in advance

I have no data for VV powders in the .32 H&R Magnum. You do not mention which bullet you are using nor do you mention which case you are using (.32 H&R or .32 S&W Long) - both will make a difference.

However, it appears to me that you don't have enough powder in the case. When a cartridge is fired, the firing pin drives the case into the chamber and the primer backs out to the depth of the "headspace". Then the pressure backs the case over the primer reseating it. This happens with ALL revolver cartridges. If you are loading TOO light, then the case will not back over the primer and reseat the primer (making it appear that you have excessive headspace OR too heavy a load when in reality your load may be too light).

PLease check data from Vihtavouri and see if you aren't below the minimum suggested load for the case and bullet you are using.

By the way, you can easily tell if the primer pockets are worn. If there is NO felt resistance when seating the primers that is an indication that your primer pockets may be worn (or expanded). In this case, I doubt that is your problem.

Try your load in a once or two times fired case. If there's still a problem then it isn't you primer pockets. Light loads in a revolver canl have bulged and backed out primers as Dale described.

For my 2 cents, I would concure, it sounds like the load is to light to reseat the primer. I also, do not have data to support that, but it is my opinion anyway. I load 2.5 grains of Reddot with a 115 gr lead for the wifes .32. They shoot well without excessive recoil. Hope that helps. Patrick

Do you think it might be the brass?

When I first started hot-rodding .32 H&R if found that the pocket primer hole was rounding out. You could almost seat a primer with finger pressure.

Stepped up to Starline Brass and that cured the problem.
