I've begged for the S&W M&P chambered in 10mm, but I love to see a S&W remake of the 1006 & 4506 platform sporting a Long Slide (possible recessed cut for red dot optics)(or special scope mount setup) & Barrel length of 6" or 7" as long range target/hunting pistol. The trigger would need to be that of target precision, so SA might be prefered, although DA (like the 86's) can work too.
The 10mm chambering Model 1096 would be fine as is caliber or even a 9x25Dillon barrel.
The 45 chambering Model 4696 could possible be chambered for 460Rowland cartridge for better ballistics down range.

These cartridges would work as designed from the original 3rd Gen frame designs, and use the same magazines...
If they didn't want to do a full pistol offering, they could do a slide & barrel package that would appeal to many shooters.
